A Detroit native, Rimarkable is a renaissance woman indeed. A DJ, vocalist, and producer, Maria Elena “Ri Ri” Garcia has truly earned the moniker “Rimarkable” after rocking crowds on international dance floors for over two decades. In the company of world stars such as George Clinton, Madonna and even legendary DJ colleagues (Gene Farris, Yuksek, Bonobo, Francois K, Super Flu, and Hyenah), or wowing dance floor crowds on Boiler Room TV, her unique sound becomes ceremony with a witches brew of house and techno, in a soul, funk and disco cauldron. Outside of her own performances and producing her own work, Rimarkable takes on the roll for others as well. She has penned and performed commercial jingles, and her work was featured in several off-Broadway productions and award-winning short films. She has even been found on the fashion runways of Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week. Rimarkable is the creator and instructor of The Alchemy of DJing Learning Workshops, which creatively engage in social justice and empower women and youth. She is the co-creator, producer, and resident DJ for NYC’s JOY Party BK, and the Everybody Random global event. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, where she owns and operates her creative production company, Rimarkable Things.
