DJ Tahleim

Born in Hell’s Kitchen New York, DJ Tahleim comes from a musical family. His Father (Alex Reyes jr.) is a singer who performed back-up in the 70’s group The Alexander Review. His Godfather Mark Dimond, was a pianist for Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe. And uncle, Danny Reyes, was a trumpeter who played with Hector Lavoe and toured with Larry Harlow of the Fania All Stars. DJ Tahleim has been collecting records since he was 10 years old. As a teenager, he formed a dance group called the S.O.S dancers (Swingers Of Soul). They debuted on the well known TV show, Latin Connection. They went on to be featured in video’s for artists like Heavy D, Jungle Brothers, Public Enemy, EPMD, Roxanne Shante, Steady B, KC Flight, King Sun & Brand Nubian. The SOS Dancers eventually joined Brand Nubian and went on tour for their debut album, “All For One”. They later danced for Grand Puba during his Reel to Reel album. The SOS Dancers have been featured in live TV performances such as, Soul Train, The Arsenio Hall Show, The Party Machine, Video Music Box & Yo MTV Raps! DJ Tahleim has been known to flip thru genres with finesse and style including everything from hip hop to soul, dance to house, R & B to rock, salsa to afro-beat, reggae and the list goes on. He can be found spinning weekly at NY hot spots such as White Rabbit and the 60 Thompson Hotel (where he’s held residency for 4 years).
